Yes. While we’re always happy to meet with clients in person, most of our work does not require it. We regularly serve people and businesses from across Canada and around the world.
We see accounting and financial advisory as complementary to our work; a great tax plan or business structure is worthless if it’s not translated correctly to a tax return or does not fit with a client’s investment goals. We are a law firm, which means that client communications are protected by attorney-client privilege if properly managed. This can be especially important in cases such as voluntary disclosures, where US-licensed CPAs have a more limited privilege with respect to US federal tax matters. We also offer services that only lawyers can provide such as drafting legal documents, forming business entities, and representing clients before US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
We bill either hourly or on a flat rate basis as clients prefer, and as agreed upon in advance. We pride ourselves on transparency in billing and strive to provide cost-effective, value-added services.
